Product overview

AK6584 supplies a ready-moulded running-water surface for channels, rivers, weirs and other groundwork where the eye needs to follow a current. Long parallel streaks travel across the transparent sheet, creating a directional pattern rather than an all-over field of ripples. The 245 × 195 mm format can be trimmed to the required outline and integrated with banks or built structures. One textured sheet is supplied in each pack.

  • The parallel surface pattern should be oriented in the intended direction of flow.
  • The imperial equivalent is 9.64 × 7.68 inches.
  • Paint and washes can add colour and definition before a gloss finish is applied.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?

Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.

How do I keep tools in good condition?

Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
