Product overview

AK676 Moss Deposits is a 35 ml textured enamel effect for adding moss, lichen and other green organic growth to worn model surfaces. Applied selectively, it dries to a matt moss appearance with a slight surface texture. The edges can be softened as the material is worked so the growth sits naturally against its surroundings.

  • Place the deposit with a round brush on wood, concrete or vehicles.
  • Use AK011 White Spirit while blending and smoothing the boundary.
  • Keep the dried effect matt, or apply AK079 Wet Effects for a wetter appearance.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
