Trains Locomotive & Wagon Weathering Set is a three-jar blister of AK's 35 ml weathering enamels for railway modelling, chosen for the most typical effects seen on locomotives and wagons — AK's own description. All three jars are enamel products, which AK describes as high quality and easy to use. Two are streaking effects: Streaking Grime for general grime and Rust Streaks for rust running down bodywork. The third is a Neutral Grey Wash. Together they weather the bodywork of locomotives and wagons, and they pair naturally with the undercarriage set for the bogies and wheels below.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
