AK9524 is a 3 m tape measure for checking larger dimensions around a modelling or craft workspace. Flexometer is its catalogue name, but the familiar retractable format works like a conventional handheld tape: pull out the scale, read in centimetres or inches, then let the blade return to the housing. Both measurement systems are printed directly on the blade.

  • The measuring blade is steel and the surrounding case is hard plastic.
  • A rear belt clip keeps the flexometer attached when it is not in hand.
  • The rewind clip can hold the blade at the exact measurement being taken.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?
