Abteilung 502 Warm Red is an artist oil for enriching models painted over a red primer base and creating tonal variation across red surfaces. AK Interactive also recommends it for figures wearing brown or reddish uniforms, where it can be used to add lighter areas. Further applications include highlighting diorama details such as walls and roof tiles. Its PR112 and PY42 pigment combination produces a warm red-earth tone rather than a clean primary red.

Notes · Q & A
What's the difference between a paint and a wash?+
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?+
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?+
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
