Synthetic precision flat for controlled strokes and sharp edges. Clean, efficient coverage.
The Raphael Precision 8534 is a synthetic flat brush from the Precision range, designed for controlled flat strokes, sharp edges, and efficient coverage. The flat profile gives a different stroke character from round brushes — wide strokes on the flat, thin lines on the edge, and clean geometric shapes.
For miniature painters, flats are useful for basecoating flat armour panels, painting geometric patterns, and applying washes to large surfaces. For watercolourists, the 8534 handles flat washes, sky gradients, and architectural subjects where straight edges matter. The synthetic construction makes it affordable enough to keep several sizes to hand.

How to care for your brush
Rinse and clean flat brushes carefully, ensuring paint does not build up at the ferrule edge. Reshape the flat profile after washing. Store flat or in a brush roll to prevent the bristles from curling. Synthetic fibres are resilient but benefit from regular brush soap cleaning.
