Tamiya 87105 is the Extra Small triangular craft cotton swab, the narrowest pointed tip in the range. Its compact triangular profile is shaped to reach into tight panel lines, around rivets and along recessed detail where a broader tip would overshoot. The tightly wound cotton holds weathering fluid or thinner without fraying, so the working edge stays defined through repeated contact. Fifty swabs are supplied per pack.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.
