Product overview

The Iwata Revolution CR is a gravity-feed, dual-action airbrush centred on general-purpose coverage. Its 0.5 mm R5 head delivers a stated 0.5–38 mm spray range, giving it scope for broader model-painting passes as well as controlled lines. A 7 ml cup with lid provides mixing space, while the comfort handle gives this model its characteristic grip. The optimal working band is 20–30 psi.

  • The spring-steel needle resists breakage; solvent-resistant PTFE packing is fitted throughout the areas that carry paint.
  • The R5 head is threaded and comprises the needle, needle cap, nozzle and nozzle cap.
  • Iwata Lube is included; the extended UK warranty is ten years.

What nozzle size do I need for miniatures?

0.3mm is the versatile all-rounder for base coats and priming; 0.2mm suits fine detail work. Larger nozzles (0.5mm) are for terrain and big surfaces.

Do I need a compressor with a tank?

A tank smooths the airflow and reduces pulsing, giving more consistent results — worth it if you spray regularly, but tankless compressors work fine for occasional use.

How do I keep an airbrush working well?

Flush with airbrush cleaner between colours and strip-clean after each session. Most spraying problems are cleaning problems.
