The guiding paper is the middle layer: it lies on the wet sponge and passes water up to the palette paper above, which is what keeps the paint workable. Lay it flat with no air bubbles and let it soak through before the palette paper goes on top. The MP-01 comes with three sheets; this pack replaces them.

50 sheets for the DSPIAE MP-01

Middle layer, between the sponge and the palette paper

Top sheet: MP-03, or the infiltrating MP-05

Purified water only, to keep mildew away

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0271/9583/4503/files/dspiae-mp-02-water-guiding-paper-for-mp-01-wet-palette-50-sh-1.jpg?v=1793181020
https://hobbyheaven.org/en-int/products/dspiae-mp-02-water-guiding-paper-for-mp-01-wet-palette-50-sheets
