Product overview

The DSPIAE AT-MPB is a compact photo-etch bender for smaller parts and a reduced bench footprint. Turn its knob anticlockwise, position the fold line beneath a suitable tooth, retighten the plate and raise the metal with the supplied bending board. A single sandblasted anodised aluminium platform keeps the arrangement compact, while spring assistance reduces the handling needed between successive folds.

  • The plate carries 12 folding teeth plus a short-side folding edge.
  • A spring beneath the folding plate lifts it when the knob is released, allowing one-handed part removal.
  • The supplied bending board is made from stainless steel.
  • A non-slip mat beneath the base holds the tool in position.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?

Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.

How do I keep tools in good condition?

Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
