Product overview

Four 3rd Generation acrylic camouflage colours most commonly used on Finnish Air Force aircraft during World War II. Since autumn 1940 the upper surfaces were painted in Olive Green (Kenttävihreä) and Black (Musta), while the undersides wore Aluminium Dope, Light Grey (Vaaleanharmaa) or DN-Light Blue — DN-Väri being, in fact, the German RLM 65, which Luftwaffe modellers will recognise. One honest note: the Aluminium Dope is not in the box — AK points to a suitable paint sold separately in its Xtreme Metal range, which we stock.

  • Set contains (4 × 17 ml): AK11029 Musta – Black, AK11155 Kenttävihreä – Olive Green (Command Green), AK11817 DN-Väri – DN-Light Blue (RLM 65), AK11866 Vaaleanharmaa – Light Grey (FS 16440)
  • AK11155 Kenttävihreä – Olive Green (Command Green) is the same paint as our 3rd Gen Command Green single bottle — AK's own parenthesis makes the link
  • AK11866 is the same bottle that appears in our US Navy sets AK11729 and AK11731 — AK names it differently in each set, and each listing keeps its own naming
  • Matt finish; acrylic colours for brush, and for airbrush dilute with water or AK11500 thinner
  • The box carries AK's printed "Scale Reduction Factor" mark, as on the rest of the 3GEN AIR range
  • Made by AK Interactive S.L. in Logroño, Spain

Notes · Q & A

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
