AK636 Starship Detail Wash is an enamel wash in a 35 ml bottle that defines panel lines and small features on grey or neutral-coloured models. Its controlled role is contrast rather than broad staining: place it where adjoining panels and recessed details need separation. Application over a glossy or satin surface is recommended, allowing the wash to flow and be wiped back more readily.

Shake the bottle before loading a fine brush.
Guide the wash into selected lines and around individual details.
Dilute the product and clean tools with White Spirit AK011 or AK047.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
