Ships Weathering Set Vol.2 is a three-jar blister of AK's 35 ml enamel weathering products for ships of any scale, military or civil — the companion volume to Vol.1, with a different trio. Dark Wash for Wood Deck brings out the detail of wooden decks, and of any other wooden subject, AK notes; Streaking Grime for Light Grey Ships does streaking dirt on light grey ships, or on similarly coloured aircraft and AFVs; and Salt Streaks for Ships recreates the streaks salt leaves on vertical surfaces and horizontal areas of any ship. All three jars are enamels, and all three are stocked by us separately as singles.

Set contains (3 × 35 ml): AK301 Dark Wash for Wood Deck, AK305 Streaking Grime for Light Grey Ships and AK306 Salt Streaks for Ships

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
