AK Interactive Metallics Colors Set contains six 3rd Generation acrylic metallic colours made with superfine metallic pigments. The selection covers warm metals, silver, steel and gunmetal for metallic surfaces and details across scale models, figures and vehicles. The paints provide the coverage and adhesion associated with the 3GEN range and can be applied by brush. Like other 3GEN acrylics, they may also be airbrushed after suitable thinning.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
