AK9050 is a colourless modelling wax for adding controlled shine to selected details rather than coating an entire model with varnish. The 20 ml product can produce greasy or wet-looking surfaces and increase the visual richness of the underlying colour on models, dioramas and vignettes. Because the sheen is created by a wax layer, it is intended for localised treatment of small areas and does not function as a conventional clear varnish.
Apply with a fingertip or cotton swab, rubbing gently until the chosen area is covered.
Excess wax can be removed with a soft cloth to even out the finish.
It may also act as a chipping medium beneath enamel or lacquer paint.
Acrylic paint is not specified for the chipping technique.

Notes · Q & A
Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?+
Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.
What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?+
Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.
How do I keep tools in good condition?+
Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
