Basic Dirt Effects Weathering Set (Train Series) is a three-jar blister of AK's 35 ml weathering products for making multiple dirt effects on trains and wagons — AK's own summary — with ultra-realistic results. It mixes product lines: two jars are enamel effects, Rainmarks for rain-streaked dirt and Decay Effect for heavier, decayed grime, while the third, Asphalt Road Dirt, is one of AK's ultrafine modelling pigments, applied dry or mixed with pigment fixer or white spirit for wet work. That enamel-plus-pigment mix is the point of the set: streaked and layered dirt first, a dusty, ground-in finish on top.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
