AK Interactive's Primary Colors Ink Set groups three acrylic inks for combining and saturating primary colours on miniatures. The set contains three 30 ml dropper bottles — Deep Blue, Pure Magenta and Primary Yellow — and each ink can be mixed with acrylic paints to produce vibrant, saturated shades. AK groups the shades so a painter can work by colour family, and describes the range as giving smooth transitions and intense finishes. The three bottles make a coordinated primary palette without tying any one colour to the box.

Set contains: AK16002 Deep Blue, AK16003 Pure Magenta and AK16006 Primary Yellow — all 30 ml, all acrylic
AK on the range, on every ink's own page: they can be applied with both a brush and an airbrush, used as filters and washes, or layered over base colours thanks to their transparency

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
