Buff is a pale sand-toned artist oil from Abteilung 502, AK Interactive's modelling-specific oil range. It is a light weathering colour: mixed into base coats it creates dirt and dust effects, and because of its pale tone it produces soft shaded areas on white or light-grey surfaces. AK positions it for lifting and illuminating selected areas on brown, sand and tricolour camouflage vehicles. The reduced-oil ABT 502 formula gives a matt finish and long working time for blending and fading.

Notes · Q & A
What's the difference between a paint and a wash?+
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?+
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?+
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
