It's one of the quickest ways to turn a bare base into textured earth: brush on PVA, sprinkle the cork, seal it, and you're ready to paint. You can also mix it straight into paint for a gritty groundwork medium. This is the Fine grade at roughly 0.5–2mm — the smallest in the range. Seal with a second thin coat of watered PVA or brush-on varnish to lock the grit down and stop it shedding. It takes spray primer, brush and airbrush well — basecoat dark, then drybrush up through earth or stone tones to bring out the grain.
